Fall in the Black Hills is a magical experience. The Buffalo Roundup, the Deadwood Jam, Autumn Fest in Spearfish, and numerous other events fill the calendar with an array of great things to do. However, the star of the show in Fall is nature's fireworks as the leaves begin to change. The progression of the vibrant autumnal colors radiate hues of yellow, orange and red from early September through the end of the month, and occasionally into the first week of October. Spearfish Canyon is the epicenter of Autumn's brilliance, but the fall colors can be seen all over the Black Hills in September.
